Wifi dies on lid close...

I just got my W500 and I'm trying to get it set up to my likes, previously I had a T60p doing exactly what I wanted it to do.

Typically at home I'll hook my laptop to an external VGA monitor, plug in a USB keyboard & mouse, close the lid and use it almost as if it were a desktop. With the T60p, disabling suspend on close was all I needed to do and everything worked just fine.

Now with the W500, whenever I close the lid, my wireless connection simply dies. If I bring up the ThinkVantage/Lenovo Wireless Connection Status (not Access Connections), I can watch the transmit rate drop from 54Mbps down as low as 6Mbps, along with the signal strength dying, and not being able to connect to anything at all. However, the instant I open the lid back up, the transmit rate and signal strength jump way back up to where they were.

Like I said, I had this working just fine on my T60p before, so I'm hoping there's just some inane power management issue I'm missing, but everything I can think of I've set to max performance both on and off AC power.

So far I'm only aware the problem exists in XP, but that's only because I have yet to try it with any other OS.

Any ideas where the problem might be?
