Hi Guys,

I just bought a Thinkpad W500 from a Reseller in USA. The reseller said it doesn't have a mobile broadband, but it WWAN upgradable, meaning the antenna is already built in.
When I tried to insert the battery I saw a SIM card slot with SIMcard symbol near the laptop battery. But I can not find the mobile broadband device in my device manager.

Can someone tell me how to findout whether I have the mobile broadband card? and I only have to insert the SIM card to activate the mobile broadband?

Thanks,

Fernando

"WWAN upgradable" actually means the antenna AND the SIM card slot AND all the wiring are already built in.

What you need then need to add is the PCI card for the wireless, which would go underneath your unit. If its not showing up in our device manager that is no surprise as the seller already told you the computer doesnt have that part, but is set up to take it as an add-on purchase. So that is what you need to buy.
