Creating Windows XP recovery Disk

Hi,

I have a Thinkpad W500 with windows XP preinstalled. I created the recovery disks from Thinkvantage. I am not sure whether this recovery will work if something terribly happened to the XP files as the recover disk was created from Thinkvantage as adviced in the manual.
As such I would like to create 'XP-recovery' CDs. Can someone tell how to create XP recovery CDs?

Thanks in advance.
Fernando

What makes you think they'll fail?

One of my friend has T61p and all of sudden, while working at home, he got a keyboard error, continuously beeping. After spending day or two to resurrect the laptop (removing the key board and using a USB-keyboard) he found that the some drivers and XP OS system had damaged/corrupted files. Needed to re-install XP and fortunately he had XP-recovery disks. Laptop is back now. During his search he found many people had said this is a common problem and need to re-install XP OS.

So I guess it is important to keep XP-recovery disks. If anyone does know how to create XP-recover disks please let me know.

Thanks,
Fernando

Two options :
a) burn your own copy of the factory pre-load. It's usually called Create Recovery Media under the ThinkVantage group.
b) Phone Lenovo and order a copy of the CD set . This will likely be chargeable.
