Giday Redfox ,

,,,Am Not sure what you will be using this laptops for ....

A few thoughts and personal experiances for TP configurations with W500 series

a) Processor
Get the fastest intel proc - for the money you want to spend. Upgrading these are not so easy by end-user but is possible.

b) Windows
I prefer to use x64 Bus version as its possible to do more and get better 'speeds' but on other hand, there are 'limited' software apps that use the PURE X64 OS in windows. Unix, linux however is a different story - all of the apps are a breeze.
In my view , there is not much use in getting Win7 Ultimate for the money.

c) 15.4" WUXGA TFT if want good 'display' on board, but lots of pple use External displays , so not much use paying for extra money as w500 comes with std 512 Vram. Ext Displays are getting cheaper and cheaper !

d) Memory
Get least amount from lenovo, as you can get cheaper and 'faster' memory @cheaper prices.

e) Hard Drive
If speed is imporant, than i would go with a SSD from factory , as its always easier to upgrade them later ( when prices drop) At the very least I would pick a 7k speed normal HD....

f) Turbo Mem
best thing , for the money, you can buy..

g) Wimax /Wifi
I would get the Combo card , easier and cheapr fhtr extra money..

Rest in my view is as 'necessary' or choices...I am not sure these days , what diferent models , options are avalible in Russia. compared to USA , but you can look at USA website and see what else you missing out on ...And dont forget to obtain 'discount coupons' from this forum- marketplace

Cheers ,,, enjoying (not!) the BLIZZARD here
