I am about to carry out a clean install of Windows 7, and would like to get rid of the service partition (S:) on the SSD that I am using in my W500.
I found some information saying that there was a BIOS setting, something about PreDesktop Area, but I can't seem to find it.
The partition appears in Disk Management, but with no option to remove it.
Diskpart also refuses to remove it.
How can I ditch it?

Do a 'custom' W7 install and the installation routine will allow you to delete all of the existing partitions.
