Win7 on W700 is "not officially supported by Lenovo" UK !?!

I have a 2752-3au W700 machine which, shortly after purchasing, I loaded Win7 64bit onto. I noticed some minor issues, one of which was audio glitching intermittently but quite frequently.
I eventually discovered that if I disabled the FX3700M driver, the problem went away. I told Lenovo tech support this and they replaced the FX3700M board. The problem was not fixed so the machine was returned to their support center.
After a week they then phoned me and said that Lenovo did not support WIndows7 on the W700 - in other words, "it is not guaranteed to work".
I found this hard to believe as there is upgrade info on Lenovo's site and there are Windows 7 drivers made available.
So, is Lenovo UK tech support right or wrong ?
