Cannot create Rescue Media in R&R after Win7 install

#1 Post by rjay » Mon Feb 15, 2010 1:19 pm

I have just done a clean install of Windows 7 64bit to my W700. I loaded R&R 4.3 and when I tried to do a backup it gave me an error saying that it could not create Rescue Media because the files could not be found. It then proceeded to create the backup, presumably without the boot option.

My F11 option at bootup still takes me to R&R.

So, why am I unable to create a bootable backup onto my USB drive like I always could when running R&R 4.21 in Vista ?

Rjay.....
in my experiance , the R&R from ThinkVantage is now redundand with Win7. I have never been much of any fan of any of the TV software(s) as most seem far lacking on features and often has had created other issues. R&R documentation does state the obvious and seems to tell you to use Win7 backup and recovery features , thus making itself redundant; and thus the lack of support now in newer W and T series machines
Especially when in win7 you do 'full backup' or with options to pick the 'folders' you want OR do a FULL BACKUP of a partitions (ready for FULL restore in case of HDD failure) I am no expert , but on my W500 and W700, I created a 'factory image' and have them on shelf, far better for me....

please try the README file here ;

hope this helps
