W510 FHD Display withtout touch ?

#1 Post by Oaklodge » Sun Feb 21, 2010 4:59 pm

Is it possible to order a W510 with a FHD display and without Multi touch?
Am I correct in thinking the FHD display is best for photography?
but multi touch is not as bright?

It seems this option is not available anymore....

I'm not sure what to think of this situation. I see that the non-multitouch option _is_ available for the T510, which is built on the exact same housing as the W510. Lenovo seems to place little priority on accuracy of their listings on the web site. This has been an ongoing problem for a long time now. Errors of omission, wrong pricing, and every conceivable type of error is the norm with Lenovo. About five weeks ago there was a problem with the T510 configuration page. Then the next day they were missing entirely. Why Lenovo chose to remove them from the site, instead of simply leaving them in place and saying they were out of stock, is beyond me. Even worse, when I called in I was told they were sold out and would not be posted back on the site for six weeks. At which point if I ordered one the shipping time would be four weeks. So having followed them and knowing the site as well as I do, I ignored what I was told. I immediately called back knowing I would get someone else, that rep said they would be back on the site in two weeks, with a 10 day shipping time. Well it was a good thing I ignored that report as well, as in just a few days they were back with a 14 day shipping time. If I knew you would get reliable info I would suggest you call but its a gamble at best. If only Lenovo would take a lesson from the others.
.
Cheers...
