Ok guys I hope somebody can ans this for me I'm looking into buying W510 (yes i know of the shipping issues). Now I'm a photographer and that's basically what I want this for can't wait for W710 to come out. What I want to know is about the capabilities of the Multi touch screen is worth it? What softwares can I use it with? Photoshop? or should I just go with FHD without multi touch? as it won't make much of a difference as far as photography is concerned?

I hope someone who has been lucky enough to have gotten their hands W510 with multi touch can lemme know soon if not about from my work point of view just what they have been using it for so far!!

Apart from able to pinch and expand a picture ( windows dont have any other software that I know off!) Nope you not going to get Iphone like screen functions on any of the Windows M-Touch as I am not aware of any WINDOWS BASED Apps that can come close to Iphone/Ipad like "FUNCTIONS"

I have a 4318CTO with i7 920, mostly used for Business Presentations etc

From what others have said on this TP Forums:

~W510 MultiTouch is only "2-touch". (Unlike the T410 which is "4-touch").

~W510 MultiTouch screen is slightly less bright

~W510 MultiTouch screen is very slightly fuzzier when compared to non-MultiTouch side-by-side.
(Not usually noticeable unless you put 2 such screens side-by-side).

~Also, Wt10 MultiTouch LCD screen is slightly thicker by a few mm

If you're a photographer, the idea of getting fingerprints all over your screen, just to do pinch and zoom, is probably a turn-off.

For Photoshop, I'd rather have the faster graphics processor of a W7XX.

Then again, the W701/W710 (or whatever they end up calling it) will supposedly use a 270 nit display, which is a lot less bright than the W700 at 400 nits, and less bright than the 17" MacBook Pro at 300 nits (even those 300-nit displays look dull, in comparison with my W700, whenever I go into an Apple store). And keep in mind that you're going to use up some of that brightness when you apply color correction. Plus the new W7XX machine will supposedly be thicker and heavier than the W700.

So you might find that buying a W700 will get you a nicer machine than anything else that Lenovo puts out this year. I notice that the W700 is back up on Lenovo's website, for the moment anyway. You may also find a good deal on a W700 (preferably an unused one) through the Lenovo Outlet store. The Outlet Store may have units with Blu-ray drives, which are not currently available in the W-series on Lenovo's main site.
