Hi everyone,

I just received my w510 and found the graphics listed on the specs summary sticker is NVIDIA Quadro NVS 5100M, not NVIDIA Quadro NVS FX880M listed on the website. I don't really want to get the box open before I have some ideas about what happended.

Thanks,

yips ,,,,,,,,,,,,, they did THAT SWITCH_A ROO_ on our order ALSO

.... i returned all the (3x510CTOs) order back to LENOVO
RMA = NOT AS ORDERED SPECS !!!!

I would NOT < CANNOT ACCEPT substitues like that (am sure Cust Sup would try to tell you its same !!! - ITS NOT !!!)

in my view more pple throw things back ! lenovo, the better - only way they would learn not to 'baite and switch' specs!!!

Cheers

Thanks for telling me your story. I had terrible experience dealing with Lenovo recently. They are kinf of cheating on customers.

I believe I had the same thing on my invoice and box spec sticker, but when I looked it up in Device Manager in Windows, it showed up as the FX880M. It's all very confusing, but my general impression is that Lenovo's labelling skills (among many of their other skills) are somewhat incompetent, but that all W510s come with the FX880M.

Hi everyone .......

GRAPHICS CARDS:: (T&W series laptops)
Ok a few/couple of "points" of note ....

A) Lenovo now SEEMS to have made a major 'shift' of making different models for different 'countries' in the T &W series latops , from what I have noticed! One of MAJOR VARIANTS = the GRAPHICS CARDs with few other things like 'modeum' NIC cards etc being others.

B) My issue was what I ordered in graphics options (NVIDIA NVS 3100m Graphics ) was CLEARLY NOT WHAT I GOT!
Delivery in USA for this instance... Thus the return blah blah ,,,

C) Below is a copy/paste of USA website for Graphics 'choices' etc ,,,,

System graphics

Graphic adapters help graphic-intensive software applications to run faster and look better, and they improve your overall system performance. Graphic-intensive applications include: desktop publishing, animation, presentation and other multimedia applications.

Graphic adapters are also ideal for dual monitor display, allowing independent resolutions on each display. Each monitor can display separate applications, like e-mail or an Internet page, and a single application like a spreadsheet can be stretched across both monitors to display more data.

Microsoft's Windows Vista operating system requires a dedicated graphics processor to exploit its full potential. This makes 3D graphics performance matter to every computer user. Windows Vista requires a minimum of a DirectX 9-capable graphics processor with 32MB of video RAM. To experience the richness of Windows Vista has to offer, Lenovo recommends a minimum of 128MB of video RAM.

I'm completely and utterly not following you. You ordered a T510? And you didn't get the Nvidia 3100 series card you ordered? You pasted what looks like graphics specs for a T61P type machine, not 510. I think you're going to have to further explain for me to understand what you are saying.
