W510 BIOS 1.20 Bug Warning! Only 3GB Usable in x64

After installing BIOS 1.20 on my W510, Windows 7 x64 reported 8.00 GB RAM installed, but only 3.06 GB usable. My WEI memory score was down to 5.9. I wasted much of the day testing my memory modules, slots, and other dead ends. The problem finally went away after I reflashed to BIOS 1.19.

Lenovo has pulled the BIOS from their site and recommends people stay on 1.19 for now. I agree with that!

On the bright side, I'm now an expert in getting those oversize Kingston HyperX heat spreaders into the SO-DIMM slots under the keyboard. The bottom one takes some skill, but it is possible.
