[W701] SD -Card Reader --> 32GB SDHC (Verbatim) Card fails

#1 Post by chrisaix » Sat Jun 12, 2010 3:43 pm

Hi all,
perhaps some others had the same problems and can help...

The build in Ricoh Multi-Card reader (within W701)
* doesn't read Verbatim SDHC 32 GB Class 6 Card
* but accepts a Transcend SDHC 16GB Card
by using Windows 7/64

And now the crazy thing:
With Ubuntu 10.04, Desktop, 64bit (live CD) all works fine aut of the box!

Any hint for bringing it to work within Windows 7 / 64 ?
I'm using the latest driver by Lenovo.

Thanks in advance
// Chris

The hotfilx (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976422) was already installed - but I re-installed it.

NO change - the Card works fine with an external usb CardReader (HAMA USB 2.0 Card Reader 35 in 1 [V3]) and within my w500 (WinXP 32, SP3) but with the W701 build in CardReader Windoze says that it wants to reformat it ... but this will not help at all.

So I think it's a Windows / Lenovo issue ... especially it works on Ubuntu 10.04 Live-CD out of the box.

Any more suggestions?
