W510 network drivers corrupted windows 7 x64 Professional

Four or five times Wireless and Ethernet network access have suddenly cut out on me in Windows 7 x64 on a W510. My computer reports that I have no wireless card or ethernet adapter. When I look at Manage computer, all of the network drivers report that they do not have the correct digital signature. It always seems to happen after I run Windows update. The only solution is to uninstall the drivers and reinstall them or to roll back to a system state previous to the Windows update. Has anyone heard to this and is there a solution to keep this from happening? Thanks.

hi Hahn*;

I run x 64 always on most all my machines ( windows & Linux)

Suggest - do UN-Install of all 'drivers' and related software eg intel pro apps
than reboot , and windows will "find new hardware" . and want you to install drivers

I would say NO or CANCEL that

Download the latest DRIVERS from Lenovo page relavant to your W510 model

and than do FULL install

reboot and you should be sweet

cheers

Thanks for the suggestion. That is what I have had to do several times. The first time, I had no wireless or wired internet, so I had to download the drivers on another computer and copy them over to the W510 with a memory stick. Now I have the driver installation programs saved on the W510. But is annoying to have to keep deleting and reinstalling the drivers. Sadly, it often happens when I am out of town.

If you doing that many 'reinstalls' I would suggest that your x64 REGISTRY might be 'corrupted'
but than am NO EXPERT on Windows (newbe on win) I would also recommend that you have the HARDWARE (wirless card) checked out also.
For me , x64 is lots more 'stable' than x32 in windows but then I hardly use any of the 'normal' apps on windows.

I would also recommend - HARD DRIVE to be looked at. Atleast run the 'defrag' and see how things go. I once had a 'very corrupt' HARDDRIVE and once I changed that - my laptop worked fine after that!

Good luck
