W500 and Ericsson F3507g WWLAN questions

I have a W500 model whose standard parts do not include the Ericsson F3507g WWLAN module, only the Intel 5300 Wifi module. So Mini-PCI slot 2 is unused.
Can I simply buy an unlocked Lenovo branded Ericsson F3507a and expect it to pass the BIOS whitelist? Are the WWLAN antennas already installed in all W500 model notebooks? (I assume they are located in the lid along with all the Wifi antennas.
I'm assuming that the Lenovo Access Connections driver software for these cards is locked to specific WWLAN service providers. What about generic Ericsson WWLAN maanger/driver software for these cards? I would be content to use the standard Windows 7 connection utilities to use the card, but will the Access Connections interfere?
Finally, I'd like to use GPS software that interfaces with the standard Windows 7 Location Sensor Platform. Anybody know if the Ericsson software installs a location sensor driver to use the card's GPS receiver?
Anybody know something about these questions from experience?
