W510: Experiences with 1366 x 768 Display?

#1 Post by thinkstone » Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:20 pm

I would be interested in hearing about people's experiences with that display in the W510.
All posts here seem to talk about either the HD+ with 1600x900 or the FHD with 1920x1080.
I am afraid both of them make text too small for my eyes to see comfortably.

My current personal R51 with 15" and 1400x1050 is borderline for me, and my work T61 with 15.4" and 1680x1050 is too uncomfortable. I can read, but it strains my eyes. So I am running it with 1280x800, even though it is not as crisp as at native resolution.

That leads me to the conclusion that 1368x768 would be the right resolution for me for a 15.6" screen, and I am wondering how that display is quality wise and whether I might be missing anything in my reasoning.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

I can not speak to the quality of W/T510 LCDs, but I can say that the WSXGA+ LCD of my T500 is bright and quite good. (I'm sure other members will comment on the W/T510.)

I also think you are spot on with selecting the HD display. It should be comfortable for you at 15.6". And running it in native resoution will keep things sharp. Best of luck.
