Upgrade W510 OS but keep Lenovo Customizations

#1 Post by andrej770 » Mon Nov 08, 2010 2:57 pm

I just bought a W510 Multi-touch 4389-2UU; arrived today. It came with Windows 7 Professional 32 on it. I want to replace that with Windows 7 Enterprise 64 but want to keep all the customizations that Lenovo has added in. Is there a way to do a fresh install and then execute a script that redoes all the Lenovo customizations. I like the complete look and feel, but I have 12 GB to install, the AT&T WWAN Card and the new OS to install.

Any suggestions.

Thanks

ThinkVantage System Migration Assistant might have worked for at least your settings and data, but it does not support migrating to W7 Enterprise.

I do not know of a way to duplicate all of the Lenovo customizations without a Lenovo Recovery disc set.
