Okay, this may sound like a bit weird issue, but here's to it anyway:
On my previous Thinkpad (z61t with Win7 x86) when I pressed the volume buttons on the thinkpad, it was separated from the windows volume mixer. However, on my new computer (w500 with Win7 x64) when i press the thinkpad volume buttons they're not separated from the windows volume mixer.
Is this correct behaviour for the w500 or is there something weird with my computer?
This is not a case of the On screen Display, but a case of how the volume buttons should behave. I have the Power management driver, system interface driver and the OSD driver installed.

Re: Volume control issue
hi Cloud*..
its 'normal' as from factory defaults . Also on my w7/5xx series due to OSD+PM driver from Lenovo. However (going from memory) it would get decoupled if you UNINSTALL the driver for HOTKEY and reboot and install it again later , it would decouple it. I for one; like it that way, as when you press up and down volume buttons - which is handy as i often travel and use the earphone mostly...
Cheers

Re: Volume control issue
I tried uninstalling the hotkey driver, but it didn't work. Then i tried uninstall all three and my Logitech Setpoint driver (I have a diNovo Edge with volume controls as well), but no joy.
Re: Volume control issue
So basically this is a case of me wanting to have the audio hardware mixer back to the physical volume control buttons, is that in any way possible with these new models, or are we just stuck with software mixers only?
