Will DDR3 1600MHz RAM benefit an overclocked QX9300
It seems from PC-8500 to PC-10600, the pass mark score got higher.
Not sure if PC-12800 make any difference?

Hi Jame*...
I for one; would love to hear from you - see what results and issues you got for OC the W701 ? can you PM me some observations Please
I have a few tips that maybe we can share re 701 with i series + SSD
thanks in advance
Mike

On W701 i7-920XM, I replaced one CPU myself, so I have 2 w701 WITH I7-920xm NOW.
I have been using throttlestop 2.9 beta 6 and 8.
Good thing of 2.9 is that it shows temp and Max temp of both CPU and GPU.
(BTW, I have been over clocking the FX2800M on my W701s, it seems I could get 20% higher scrore on passmark test. The highest temp of GPU was 65 C.)
Back to i7-920XM
The TDP increased to 85
TDC increased to 75
multipliers are 26, 26, 26, 26.
(Evrytime I increased to 27, it showed me the blue screen.)
Passmark scores are 20% higher with the OCing.
Temperature for both machines shows a 10C variation of the 4 cores.
While on my w700, the QX9300 has been consistent with less than 5 C variation among the 4 cores.
I don't know it is due to CPU itself or my procedure/technique to tie the 3 screws of the heat sink. I use arctic silver.

The way to get out of the blue screen situation, waht I found, is to start window in SAFE MODE, serach THROTTLESTOP.EXE in window explore, then delete the 2 "STOP" signs.
Restart window, copy paste THROTTLESTOP 2.9 in the computer.
