Replacement DVD/CD for W510

I have a brand new W510 that came with an additional SSD for the DVD bay. Last week, I swapped out my DVD drive to use the SSD. And, knucklehead that I am, I left it in my hotel room. Of course it wasn't found.

I need to replace it, but I don't know what the right part was. I have a colleague with the same configuration - we think it's:

FRUPN 45n7515

Does anyone know the right part number and more importantly where I can buy one separatly? I've checked IBM and Lenovo with no luck.

Just put "W510 DVDRW" into eBay. This looks promising.

I must say that I'm a discouraged and disappointed with Lenovo/IBM that I need to go to eBay to find an accessory for Thinkpad.

I did confirm from a colleague, that the FRU P/N was 45N7515.

Why would you think that? You can certainly order the drive from IBM. It's $91.50 plus tax and shipping.

Why ? Well ....

A Google search for the "DVD REPLACEMENT W510 45N7515" yielded a bunch of links to lenovo.cz.
I wasn't about to pass my credit card information there.

I called Lenovo directly only to be informed by tech support person that 45N7515 wasn't a part number. She also said that they only sold laptops whole (no accessories) and that I should try IBM. Really? I decided not to spend time arguing that their website might beg to differ. Still, searching for that P/N on the Lenovo accessories page yielded nothing.

On to IBM.

Searches for the P/N and or accessories always landed me be back at Lenovo.
I already knew the answer there.

So to you, I say ... NICE FIND AND THANK YOU!
You've bested me in the world of search.

I'll stand by my comment though - not angry, just frustrated.
