Adapter not just charger

I bought a Targus charger, thinking it would do an adequate job of running my w510. It appears the machine is much slower than it should be on the adapter (I'll know for sure tomorrow when I get to the office and connect the one that shipped with it.)...so I'm assuming there's not enough power to run the machine at its max. Actually, the message that greeted me when I turned on the machine said as much, but when I went to the power setup....the slider was all the way to the left, indicating it was running at full speed. Also, the adapter label and documentation states that it puts out the same amount of power that is stamped on the back of the laptop.

Is there a source other than (expensive) Lenovo where I can get an adapter that will run the machine at full power?

The usual sources would be the Lenovo Outlet Store: http://outlet.lenovo.com/accessories/po ... pters.html where you can be assured of getting an original (factory) AC adapter, if it is in stock (which does not seem to be the case at the moment) or eBay. The problem with eBay is that you might be getting a knock-off.

What model of Targus charger do you have? If it is rated to deliver 6.75A at 20V (135W), then it should work just as well as a factory adapter.

I don't know of any universal adapters that are rated more than 90W. (One of Targus' old models did support 120W.)
If you do have one that will do 135W I'd be very interested (my Precision M4400 also needs 130W to operate at full speed).
