Thinkpad W500 4062-5FU WWAN not showing up

When I got my W500 last year, I put in my SIM card and configured the WWAN profile to work with my phone company. I used it for a couple days and it worked great. I pulled my SIM and put it back into the phone. Today I am getting ready to travel for a few days and want to have the WWAN again while in the car. I stuck the SIM back in and went to Access Connections. It still has my profile that I made before, with the qualcomm hs-usb Mobile broadband device 9202, but it says the device is missing. I did a FN-F5 and there is no WWAN card anymore.
Any ideas on how I get it back? Its not showing up in the Device manager either.
Thanks,

The only thing I can think of (beside a defective WAN card) is that if you did a BIOS update or changes since last year you may have disabled WWAN in BIOS?

Had the same problem with my w500 and erricsson wwan. I think it was locked somehow after updating driver a while ago.
Since then, I was not able to make it work.
Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, changing a sim card. Nothing works.
The device shows in device manager.but it's just not working.
Very disapointing...

Have you tried flashing firmware on the card? Even if it was to a generic version and then a flash back to Lenovo firmware. I am speaking offhandedly because I do not know if firmware exists for this card...just something to try or at least think about .
