Hi
I got w500. My top lid cover is quite flexy. Everytime when I was holding laptop it made a creaky noise. So i decided to put some tape under the lid cover it reduces the distance between rollcage and the lid cover. Since that "fixing" it does not make such noise anymore. But one question is still bother me......... does it avoid the warranty?

No. If your LCD ever dies under warranty and you're worried about it, just remove the tape prior to sending it in for service.
