So we just imaged a W520 with XP SP3. All Drivers in Device Manager are there and working with the exception of the PCI Simple Communications Controller. It shows it with a Yellow Bang next to it. I have narrowed it down to it being the Intel AMT driver. Or so it I think. I have tried reinstalling the driver and get an error saying driver not found. I have gone to Intel's driver page and tried that route, same outcome...

I am hoping someone has seen this...

thanks in advance...

Dan

G'Day Dan;
Not sure if you called tech support (1800 IBMSERV)...might help

I am not sure why you installing XP on a new W520 - but am sure your have good reasons....(most XP programs would run in windows 7 - atleast all that I know off!!)
I suspect you will find out the NEW W520 series has new PCI controller = series 4 - which in not 'backwards' compatible with other PCI hardware eg HD DVD etc etc. Thus the drivers would/are also not compitable......

hope this help

Cheers

yeah unfortunately its a corporate image, and Win7 will not be rolled out until November of this year...ugh...7 more months of XP.

So I find it strange that i have downloaded ALL drivers from Lenovo that are XP compatible and still no luck...I will try the tech support and see what they have...thanks!

Dan & MAX...
not sure if this is relevant suggestions ,, we run Windows 7 Entp (corp image) in XP mode ,, and most 'ordinary uses' dont even KNOW they have Windows7 running ,,, as most sessions /screens looks like the OLDER XP !!!
