There are no power issues and the enclosure is brand new. It just disappears until I power cycle hard drive.
It works fine in USB 2.0 ports – I even get a message telling me that the device can perform better in a USB 3.0 port!
The USB 3.0 ports themselves work fine with non-USB 3.0 devices, like mice and flash drives. I don’t currently have any other USB 3.0 devices for test purposes (I've ordered a flash drive that will arrive in a few days).
I have the latest BIOS version (May 2011) and have the latest firmware (NEC 3.0.2.5) and drivers (NEC 1.0.19.0) from the Lenovo site. I’ve done the reboots etc. too.
I’ve also tried newer firmware (Renesas 3.0.2.
At this time, I think it is the USB 3.0 host controller that is problematic. I briefly tried another USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure recently and had pretty much the same problems. This makes it more likely that it is the USB Controller.
Has something like this happened to anyone else? Any ideas?
