Hi All,
I am currently using a T61p and would love to upgrade to a 17" LCD screen size with a display showing more accurate color.
There are number of brands having similar models but I just love Thinkpad. It's a pity that Lenovo discontinued the W7 series.
Is there anyway I can still order a Factory Refurbished W701?
The key spec I require are WUXGA with 100% color space Display.
Any online store I can looking for?
Thanks guys~

Re: W701, Factory Refurbished, Anywhere?
There's the Lenovo Outlet Store, although I don't know how that works with the Hong Kong market, and I don't see any W701 machines on there at the moment.
I have a W700, which has dual-fluorescent backlights, and the built-in color calibrator works great with that. However, the W701 uses the same color calibrator on an RGB-LED-backlit display, and many people have complained that the reds are over-saturated. That is not what should happen if you have an accurately calibrated screen. The only people who appear to get accurate calibration with that display are those who instead use a more advanced external color calibrator.
I would try to find a 17" machine with dual fans, and a display that's bright enough to handle calibration, which always reduces the screen's native brightness. You need the dual fans if you want to take advantage of the power of the best-performing graphics processors, like nVIDIA's 485M. I'd stay away from AMD's high-end graphics processors right now, which appear to have reliability problems.
Good luck!
