Has anyone successfully hooked up their W520 to a proper hd home theater setup for movie playback?
My first short attempt resulted in the screen being off center with no obvious ways to adjust it. Sound comes through but not sure about DTS or the like.

Any advice would be welcome:)

I did this just for testing (have BluRay, Roku, DVD, etc in my home setup so don't need a PC too), but all I had to do was connect a DP to HDMI cable I got cheap from Amazon and it worked fine. At least for movies.

I found that when using DisplayPort with digital audio for regular computing tasks, the on-screen volume indicator would pop up every time the system played a sound. Like every single time you change folders/pages in Windows Explorer or Internet Explorer.

Ways to adjust the picture for your setup might include checking your TV's manual to turn off overscan or enable a pixel-for-pixel mode or something like that. And of course you'd want to make sure the video output matches your TV's resolution. And that your AV receiver isn't playing games trying to "enhance" it.

I got a chance to play around with it last night and got everything working, I did need to change the output from 1080P 60Hz to 24Hz. when it was on 50 or 60Hz the whole screen was shifted to left. I also found that it worked better if I plugged in the display port before booting up, when I plugged it in after booting it puked a little:(
DTS and digital audio goes through fine as well once you find the settings in both the OS and the media player.
