Ok,
This is a weird one.
I have a W500 4062-27U
However, system update thinks I have a 4068-27U so I never get updates.
So I have LENOVO ThinkPad Hardware Maintenance Diskette 1.76
If I use that disc and ask it to check the model it lists: 1S406227UXXXXXXX <--- When XXXXXXX is the serial number
I even deleted and renentered the model/serial number and I still have System Update insisting my machine is 4068-27U!!!
Help? Any suggestions on what I should try now? It seems the system update program is getting the 4068-27U from somewhere that the HMD disc is not writing to. But I am stumped on how to proceed?
Thanks in advance.
