R40E cpu upgrade

Hello :)
My friend have IBM R40E( 2684-LKG ) with Mobile Celeron 2.4GHz.
He want upgrade to Pentium 4-M 2.2 or 2.4GHz(little bit faster and support speedstep).
Pentium 4-M should be supported?
Pentium M(Banias) is not supported?

Welcome to the forum.
Just for getting Speedstep, personally I wouldn't bother to upgrade.
Pentium-4M is supported, but Pentium-M is not supported.
