A31p no boot and wierd lights

I've got an old a31p that I recently replaced the inverter in. It worked great for two days, but now won't boot. It comes up with a battery light when the system battery is plugged in, and was running that way the last couple times I booted it. I did not run it very long either time, and I had a good ultrabay battery in too. The last time I booted it, it ran for a bit and then the screen went dark (backlight cut out.) A few seconds later it died as if the battery had died with no alarm to stop it. Now, it will still turn on the battery light if the main battery is plugged in (not the ultrabay one though) and it will turn off the light if the power button is pressed. If I unplug the batteries and then plug in the adapter, it will flash both the orange and green lights on the inverter, but will still not boot. Tried pulling the inverter, the ram (no ram beep) and the wireless card. Have not pulled the processor of checked fuses yet, as I thought somebody might have seen this before. I'm charging the ultrabay battery with a t30 motherboard, but I'm not sure if that will help.
Any ideas beyond what I've tried?
