G41 Bios update

In the process of getting my G41 back up and running. System update downloaded the BIOS update but there was no embedded controller update. If I remember correctly every time in the past when I updated the BIOS I had to update the controller first. Is this no longer neccesary?

Current G41 BIOS is 1.16.
G40/G41 have their ECP included in the BIOS.
