R52 1848: XGA 14.1'' to SXGA 15''

#1 Post by THiNKNATiON » Thu Mar 08, 2012 3:25 pm

Okay, so I just replaced my monitor, but apparently missed some details about it in the process. I didn't notice that it previously had XGA, nor that the new screen I was buying was any different. Here's the issue I'm having now, as you can see, image is displayed (perfect brightness & color I might add), though it's fragmented into quadrants.

This thinkpad has the ATi X300.

Any brilliant minds out there wanna help me fix this? Please note, I already looked at the other post where this issue has been sorted. One small thing, my LCD cable doesn't have the pinouts to solder. This will require a different fix than that hack.

You need a *proper* LCD cable for the 15" SXGA+ ...of the R5x variety...

Got any reliable links for businesses which provide them?

Posting a WTB (want to buy) ad in the forum's Marketplace would be my recommendation.

Good luck.
