R51 sleep awake via external keyboard or mouse?

I have my R51 in a dock and I'm using external PS/2 keyboard and mouse which allow me to put the system to 'sleep' in Windows XP via the sleep button on the ext keyboard. However, I am unable to wake it via external keyboard or mouse. Can anyone confirm once and for all if this laptop is able at all to be awaken from sleep via external keyboard or mouse?
