Recently one of my friends passed an old P4M laptop on to me. It also has a 15-inch XGA LCD, so I took it apart to see the part number. It's an AUO B150XG01. According to the HMM, the AUO panel used in R60/e/i is FRU 13N7126, which turns out to be AUO B150XG02. The part numbers are close enough, so I looked up their data sheets and found out that both the connector and pin assignments are the same. Since the resolution is XGA, there shouldn't be any problems with EDID either. So I transplanted the B150XG01 into my R60i, and sure enough it works fine.

Successfully installed non-Lenovo XGA LCD in R60i
I have a R60i 0657-LHC which had a bad screen. The original screen is a FRU 13N7124, LG-Philips LP150X08.

For future reference, this same panel is used in the elusive R61i 4:3 15'' as well.twistero wrote:According to the HMM, the AUO panel used in R60/e/i is FRU 13N7126, which turns out to be AUO B150XG02.

4:3 T61 SXGA+, R61i 4:3 15'', X41T
Re: Successfully installed non-Lenovo XGA LCD in R60i
On a similar note, I successful installed a non-Lenovo SXGA+ into a 4:3 R61i. The panel came from a Compaq Presario 2500 (Hitachi TX38D91VC1FAF). Used the LCD cable and inverter of the R61i, straight swap. So, resolution-wise this is a step up from the default XGA and a step down from a Frankenpad with an UXGA which - correct me if I am wrong - was never offered as a resolution to these rare R61i.

4:3 T61 SXGA+, R61i 4:3 15'', X41T

There was a 15" 4:3 R61i?!
That would be interesting for an IPS screen swap, seems it would just be a lid swap!
No filing needed.

Yes, there was.
But only in Europe...
AFAIK only with Intel graphics.
Known under 8943/4/5/7 series, aka UV1DNGE, with motherboards 42W7822 or 44C3810 (both native Penryn).
