Just installed an SXGA IPS screen into my battered R60i
And OMG it looks beautiful. It is the biggest screen I've used in quite a while (no desktops); beats my main laptop (14 inch 1366x768) hands down. A shame the rest of the computer doesn't quite match up...
BTW, the screen works fine with the original XGA inverter.

It took about an hour to remove the LCD assembly from the machine, replace the panel, and install the LCD assembly.

I have comparison pictures of two R60e units, one with standard XGA TN panel and one with SXGA+ IPS LCD posted here:emeraldgirl08 wrote: You going to take any pictures?

Re: Just installed an SXGA IPS screen into my battered R60i
Those IPS panels never cease to amaze me! My T400 is a TN and it is not too terribly bad in comparison to the large population of laptops here at school. The screen can get relatively bright and the resolution is acceptable in my opinion. In a somewhat related tidbit I was able to get my hands on a cheapie 7" tablet which has an LED IPS. I was surprised when I found out the manufacturer of the screen for the tablet is BOE. Needless to say I wish the little screen could fill to fit my T400 screen! I would be in hog heaven!ajkula66 wrote:

Don't be surprised. BOE is coming back with LED AFFS panels in various formats, including 4:3 UXGA...emeraldgirl08 wrote:.
