A31 Win 7 drivers.

New member here. Don't know if this should go in the Windows 7 board or here, but I'll post it here and wait to get yelled at

I recently installed Windows 7 on my recently acquired A31 (Type 2652, Model P3U) And, for the life of me, cannot find a sound driver that will work with this machine. I have a attempted to use the compatibility mode with the NT 4.0 driver that is listed on Lenovo's website to no avail. I also tried the same drivers that I used on my R51, also to no avail.

Does anyone know of a sound driver that will work for this particular machine using windows 7?

Again, sorry if this is in the wrong forum

PS. Is there any reason that the specific "P3U" model is not listed on Lenovo's support site?

As far as the audio drivers go, the PSREF says that the A31 has a "SoundBlaster Pro™-compatible / CS4299 AC97 codec". Going to the horse's mouth (Cirrus Logic, the maker of the CS4299 chip), it appears that development stopped with Windows 2000:
