But you already have BT in your A31p, right?

Yeah - integrated but since upgrading to the Intel 2200 BG - I lost the internal modem. I thought maybe that I could upgrade the CDC card and reroute the modem. Seems like it might have worked.

Got my Intel BMDC200B working in my A31p 2653-R9U recently. Exchange the CDC, update the drivers. Done. A31p has no PCI-express.

It will also work in an R52, maybe a few other models. My brief testing has shown that the BT IV module only works in the machines that it was designed to work in.

Anyone know which specific drivers to be used for the 56k modem on that Bluetooth combo card?

You actually got the modem to work too?

Yes.

Been offline for a bit working on another box but can detail the process (I think I've already done so here, but can't remember) if you want.

Please do. Have tried a number of different bluetooth/modem daughter cards in the past, but was never able to get the modem to work. Went back to the regular modem card, since I do need it.

Right now just using a Ultraport bluetooth adapter (on top of the screen) when I need BT, but I already have the BT antenna & faceplate installed.

Use this driver:

http://tinyurl.com/zbse8

Expand to default c:\drivers\win\SWMDMCNT and execute the \SWMDMCNT\win2kxp\ich\hxfsetup.exe file through to completion

Uninstall your 56k modem in device manager. Reboot.

Upon reIPL your modem will be automatically installed with the old drivers, possibly. Mine was. Go to device manager and find your modem and update driver. Use the manual routine - Have Disk - and point to the \ICH subdirectory and proceed. The unsigned Integrated 56K Modem driver will be the only driver available. Choose that one and complete installation. Reboot.

Should be set.

Great. Just to be clear what was the FRU on the daughter card you use?

I have come across these BMDC200B models: 27R1880 91P7319 93P3471

Also which Bluetooth drivers?

Thanks

That's the same CDC I have. (same numbers for the single CDC)

CompuVest has it for $7 now if you don't already have the piece.

BT driver:

http://tinyurl.com/6aqjqb

Good luck!

P.S. Remove old drivers first from Add/Remove and Device Manager for both bt and modem. (saves some confusion)

Got both Bluetooth and the modem to work (BMDC 200b).

Another nice upgrade for the A31p!

Have you figured out the exact nomenclature for the modem. Mine's a Conexant but I wanted to see if there were any BIOS/driver updates for it. Mine reports to not be voice capable and I think that because it's a winmodem that this is merely a function of the driver.

Anyone know? Thanks!

Oh, congratulations, too.
