USB and Windows XP in R40

#1 Post by Artur » Sat Apr 30, 2005 9:28 pm

I was having problem to connect some USB devices. Only my Talent PEN DRIVE was working properly. I turned off oll USB devices in Device Manager and now, even my PEN DRIVE isn´t working.

After visiting IBM site several times, I have serial host controller 82801DB/DBM working properly but I couldn´t make the USB device work.

Now, I still have 4 yellow quotation marks at device manager, SM controler, USB and 3 unknown devices.

Could some one give me a tip to fix this problem?
Regards

Try the following - Its worked for me.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.
