Yes I did know that ... appreciate what your saying ... I might be a newbie on here .. but I've been doing I.T. for 35 years .. So I know a few things about Thinkpads .... ;-)

I remember the days when a computer used to fill an entire room ... !!!!

The days of punch tape (Ticker-tape) and 40Mb Tape streamers ...

The first IBM 8086 ..... !!!

The latest upgrade is a SATA HDD tray in the cd-rom draw .... with a 1TB Hard drive ... it all works fine and no problems with the R40 bios .... The Extra 1TB hdd works fine, is hot swappable with win-xp also ... Life is great when you have a working Thinkpad R40 ... Ha ha ha 8)
