X41 WIFI card in A31

#1 Post by ganon11000 » Wed Mar 06, 2013 6:29 pm

I've acquired a ThinkPad X41 with a cracked screen and I wanted to take the wifi card and use it in a A31 but upon trying it, it said error 10 device cannot start. when using it in the x41 (apart from 3 black lines on the screen) it works fine, what am I doing wrong?

It's a A31 2652-KZG and a X41 2525-F8G and its a 2915ABG Intel PRO wireless.

Written on Lubuntu on my X41 using the WIFI card
IBM Thinkpad A31 2.0GHz Pentium 4, 768MB RAM, 40GB HDD and a ATI 7500 16MB shimmed
Lenovo T420 4236-PA8: WiFi card replaced with a Broadcom one (fixes most DPC latency), 64GB Crucial M4 SSD added as OS drive, original HDD in a DVD to HDD caddy.

2915ABG will not work in an A3x unit within Windows. 2200BG will.

darn, Oh well I've been offered a A31 wifi card for free :)

out of interest is it electrically incompatible or bios incompatible?
