Hello,

Here is a "how to" add WPA on the prism 2.5 commonly known as "IBM High Rate Wireless card" (or a name that sounds like that)

step 1. use the tool from the lenovo site to update the firmware to v1.7.4

step 2. go to this wensite: http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/ ... =DOWNLOADS and click "notebook" "P series" "P2120" and download the "WLAN - Intersil" driver in the windows xp compatible drivers (they work on xp pro!) mirrored here https://www.dropbox.com/s/asvan4znfv939 ... 0.4_XP.exe

step 3. extract the file and ignore all auto installers (close anything that pops up)

step 4. right click "my computer" and click manage

step 5. click device manager -> network adapters -> right click "IBM Hirh Rate Wireless" (or a similar name)

step 6. click update driver and click advanced (specific location) and then "I'll chose the driver"

step 7. click "have disk" then "browse"

step 8. find the driver file (normally C:\DRIVERS\Wireless LAN\Intersil 3.0.4\install\win XP\PRISMNIC.inf

step 9. click next until it installs clicking allow / ignore / yes to everything

step 10. connect to your router / AD-HOC and It will recognise WPA1 & WPA2!

I'm sending this from my prism 2.5 and my WPA1/2 router!

Did you try that with your A31 in your signature? Reason I'm asking is because the firmware update you are referring to is for the T30, X30 (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/IBM_High_ ... h_Modem_II) and I am looking to get WPA for my A30p (http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/IBM_High_ ... with_Modem). Installing the drivers you linked to, alone, gets only up to WEP encryption.

Basically, this is mostly attempted as an experiment, cause this is always kept on a desk and connected through a wire. Moreover, as you mentioned, I use the modem portion of it for sending and receiving facsimiles.

So, I'm hoping that the OP will get to reply to this thread at some point

And yes I did it with my A31 in my signature!

Edit: Just checked and I'm running AK010104.HEX (1.7.4) and FR010704.HEX (1.7.4)

Just to update my story, as I got some time to tinker with my A30p again.

Basically I found this excellent page which is fail-proof.

Similarly to Frank from Poland (http://linux.junsun.net/intersil-prism/ ... M_A30p.txt) I upgraded the firmware (within linux) to v1.8.2 and now I am posting this from the WPA wirelessly connected A30p.
