ThinkPad R60 1802 BIOS Mod

Is there a BIOS mod, patch, or whatever for a non-authorized wireless card (1802 BIOS error) for the ThinkPad R60?

I've been looking and can't find a solution. Just installed what's supposed to be a 42T0825 and I get the dreaded 1802 error on boot. I have a bunch of wireless-N cards, none of which I can use in my R60.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed, or numbered!
TP 600X/850MHz/576M/100G 7K100/Win2K-OfficeXP/SystemSuite 7
Dell Latitude D620 WinXP - Office2003/SystemSuite 7 (my 600X replacement!)
