Thinkpad R40 as possibly buy

Hi! I need a second laptop,and someone dell this for just 40€ in good working condition.

Does anybody know if this model has the same graphic al issues that affected the T40 series?

Generally if it have the same GPU as the T40 series, then yes.

We would be better able to help you if you provide some more specific info. The 7 digit machine type would help.

Yes,i know, she will send me it tonight.

I think that Its the 14.1" xga with the Ati 7000,not the 7500 one.

Its the same as the r40e?

You'd be better off finding an R52, either 14.1" or 15", with built-in Intel graphics.
You should be able to get one for about the same €40.-

The R40 is a POS, made by Acer. Don't touch it if not necessary!

Yes,although my r40e was an amazing rock-solid computer

P.s. Once i'll received my t520's keyboard,i'll surely resend it if Its not ok

I gave away, many R40 several years ago. Never gave me any problems, cheap to find parts for fairly rugged. That said, they are by no means "cutting edge". I would offer half that much and see what happens. If it is complete and maxed out, it is probably worth it.
A R51 or R52 is probably a much better choice.
