Z61m

#1 Post by jronald » Sun Dec 08, 2013 8:41 pm

So I stumbled on a 9452-E9 with the x1400 ATI, as near as I can tell. Trying to find the listing on the MoBos to see If I can upgrade to a camera. Anyone have the link?

Thanks
Ron

You're missing a character there...9452-E9?

Will PM you the list of camera-ready mobo FRUs in a bit...

I'm *presuming* that you could, but I've never done it myself...

Good luck.

OK, just incase anyone was wondering..............
Added the correct cable, modified the back on the LCD carrier (screw the LCD into it).
Threw in a cloned HDD from a Z61t machine, and it fired up ..........and it started looking for USB 2.0 camera!

Not a direct fit, some minor modifications that Ill describe later, but it looks like Im in!!!

After more than 25 years together, we need to work at presents that "impress".

She wanted to be able to skype, and to be honest we looked at a very late model Lenovo. She is a pretty sharp cookie, and was not impressed with the quality...........so after being on a Z61m with the Intel Graphics for over a year, she ought to like the x1400!

Anyway, Windows 7 is on the way.

I have a Z61m with the better graphics and camera. I like it a lot. Although, my primary laptop is this X301, the Z61m with it's big 15.4" screen with 1680 x 1050 resolution is much nicer for photos and such. I've had W7 on it for over a year and it runs it well. I just put my daughter on a Z61t loaded with W7 as well and she's happy with it as well.

I'm sure you guys will enjoy yours for some time to come.
