R61 Screen Problem

Hey guys, I have an old R61. It starts everything seems to work find except i cant get the screen to work. It was cracked about 7 years ago. Also I'm not sure why but the strip that connects the screen to the laptop has been cut. Now I want to use an external monitor with it but it just does not recognize anything. I can hear windows start up but the monitor still says no signal. Is there any way I can get the monitor to work?

Hey ukisash, welcome to thinkpads.com!

Have you tried cycling through the Fn+F7 display switches with the external monitor connected?
Collection = T500 - R400 - X300 - X200 - T61 (14" WXGA+) - T61 (14.1" SXGA+) - T60 (15" SXGA+) - X40 - T43p - T43 - T42p - A30P - 600E
