ok I need to know all that I can about RAM to appease the man who bought me the laptop, to convince him that installing more RAM is fine... he doesnt know too much about laptops, so if an expert can answer these questions it would be most helpful:
1- My R50 can hold up to 2 GB, however I have a 256 MB already in there and dont want to take that out, I just want to add a GB to it...is that fine, does the other stick of RAM have to = the memory in the original stick?
2- How easy is it? can someone take me through the steps of how to do it, just so I know exactly how easy it is?
3- Will it void the warranty?
4- Is there any risk of damaging the cpu?
If someone could answer me these who knows a lot about them I would be most thankful!
-Thanks-

is there risk of damaging the CPU?
If you install it correctly no you would not damage your cpu. If however you try to change your memory under bad lighting conditions and you jam it in backwards yes you will fry your logic board. How do I know this? Well....... I'm just guessing LOL.
