So far, like you, I've found that Zorin does everything we need it to. In fact today, I had the test machine on my desk after having shown it to our Director of Technology when a 9th grade had trouble with one of those $400 "Walmart Special" laptops. So I handed him the R60 and he just started working on it. No questions, no hiccups, no issues.

I have seen this behavior though as well as what I had stated above. This afternoon, I was setting the machine up for one of my students to use as a long-term stability testbed. However, when we logged in to her newly created profile, nothing can be seen in the "sys-tray" area. The normal functions are there, as we could click on it and bring up functions, but just couldn't see anything. Anyone encounter this with Zorin?

I have had uBuntu "forget" to load the bar at the bottom. As an old hand with Winblows, I like the bar, its convenient. Wonder if its the uBuntu error popping up. Did a restart fix it?

Yup; restart fixes it. That's all I know so far. I'm loading up another of those machines with Zorin tonight, so I'll see if the issue replicates itself.

Perhaps a Non-PAE issue?
I have a PRE-PAE copy of Zorin if you want it. Would be NO FUN doing all the updates, but Im sure you could do it.

Just for clarity, NON and PRE are actually 2 different beasts.
