[SOLVED]: Do I or don't I have Bluetooth?

#1 Post by Insomniac1971 » Fri Oct 17, 2014 2:09 am

Ok here is the thing, I had an T61 where the screen went bad and instead of spending a fortune on a new LCD, I bought an R61i instead - then used sysprep to move my installation of Win 7 enterprise to the R61i, and it worked - though it sometimes seem a bit slower than the T61. The differences between the 2 models:

T61 7665-12G: T7300 cpu, IEEE1394, nVidia 140m, 160GB Seagate HDD

R61i 7738-A52: T7250 cpu, No IEEE1394, Intel GM965, 320GB Hitachi Travelstar HDD

Besides that it has the same amount of ram 2GB, and the same Wi-fi card.

But the thing is, that I thought the R61i also had bluetooth, but I can't find it in bios(2.29-1.08) or in Device manager - Except, under hidden devices - but I can't get it to work. Its almost as the one under hidden devices is a leftover from the T61. But if I look at its properties, it states that its working correctly - Very strange.

Here is what SIW could get from Devices

Hi again, yeah I figured so, after I removed the bluetooth from devicemanager and restarted the laptop - it were gone. So it was a leftover from the T61 that sysprep didn't remove.

But thanks for the info of the model - where did you find that? I ask because I can't find it at Lenovo's page and some people say its not an R61i model but in fact an R61 - The label on my LCD frame says R61i - Is there any explanation for this BTW?

EDIT: Never mind:) Found it, rkawakami posted the link in my other post:
http://support1.lenovo.com/en_US/landin ... q=7738-A52

And it would seem that the LCD frame/bezel is not original but from an real R61i.
