R3x quality/durability

#1 Post by brchan » Tue Jan 27, 2015 2:25 pm

How is the build quality and durability of the r30 series? I understand that they were made by Acer, but are they really inferior compared to their t-series brothers? Also is the case made of ABS or PC+ABS plastic?
Current Thinkpads: W530 (functional classic keyboard mod), X301, T61, T60, T43, T23, 600X, 770
Other: mk5 Toughbook cf-19, mk1 Toughbook cf-53

Mostly junk.

By quite a few margins.

I really don't recall, but the structure is the least of the problems on these machines. QC was atrocious for the most part.

OK, thanks for the info. Just wondering, the r60 and later series were made by Lenovo and are not junk, correct?

It's actually R5x series and on which were not built by Acer and are pretty much up to par with their T-series siblings.
