It's handling the Websites I'm using with no problems with the latest Firefox (haven't tried playing videos on it, yet). Sometimes the hard drive is a slight bottleneck on speed, but that could probably be fixed with a faster drive (if it's not a processor limitation that slows it down "thinking" - could be, bumping up the RAM may help). But, all-in-all this is still a useful machine, amazingly! But is that really a surprise for an IBM-era Thinkpad?
The only real issue I'm having with the machine is the lack of video drivers for the Power Management functions. I'd like to be able to have it "sleep" and/or hibernate, and also power manage the screen, but until I update the drivers that won't be possible, as far as I know. I get several yellow "drivers out of date/not installed" warnings when I look at Hardware>Device Manager.
I tried the automatic drivers update in XP but got no results. I have searched for the drivers online but so far have come up with nothing (there were listings on various driver sites, but there was nothing to download - Lenovo seems to have deleted any pages for this machine's drivers, too).
Can someone assist with video drivers for this machine? Thanks!
