R51 parts to reuse with other thinkpad model

Hi,

I have IBM R51 thinkpad, which does not get on. I have a 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD, good battery, and Adapter. I want to buy a new thinkpad laptop where I can reuse the above parts. Can anyone suggest me a thinkpad model which is compatible with these parts, thanks.

The RAM is DDR
The HDD is PATA
Battery will fit the R5* and the T4*
Charger is the 16 volt (older style)

Not going to bank on it, but R52 or T43 and older machines are about it.

Thanks. I will buy the ones compatible without those parts from ebay. Should be able to get a cheap one.

The R52 and T43 use DDR2, so the RAM from the R51 won't work. However, if you get a T43 or R52, 2GB of DDR2 isn't very expensive.

Nope.

R51e runs on DDR2. It's a very different system from the standard R51, and closer to R52 and T43.
